Virtual Membership Meeting: Well-Attended & Lively

Nearly 500 ALA members from around the world participated in the first-ever ALA Virtual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, June 6. It was a wonderful opportunity to convene the membership in an online setting to discuss current projects, ongoing initiatives, and the direction of the Association.

If you’re in Chicago this weekend the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom and Office for Library Advocacy (with the help of the Graphic Novels in Libraries Member Interest Group) will be at the C2E2 Comic Book Convention spreading the word about how wonderful libraries and librarians are.

The American Library Association will be presenting and exhibiting at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), April 13–15, 2012, in the North Building at McCormick Place in Chicago. C2E2 is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, manga, anime and video games for fans and professionals alike.

Whoa. Saturday is typically the most frenetic day at Interactive, as dealmakers recover from the previous night’s parties and rally for a second day of negotiations and networking.
