PHILADELPHIA — As of Sept. 4, 2012, the American Library Association (ALA) division formerly known as the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF) will be known as "United for Libraries."
The United for Libraries name and logo will be featured on the organization’s website and materials. United for Libraries will continue to provide its members, which include friends of the library, library Trustees, foundations and library advocates, with the best possible specialized resources that will empower them to support and advocate for their libraries.
United for Libraries: The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations, is a division of the American Library Association that supports citizens who govern, promote, advocate, and fundraise for libraries. United for Libraries brings together library Trustees, advocates, friends, and foundations into a partnership that creates a powerful force for libraries in the 21st century. The Logo
The logo retains the old name. “United for Libraries” looks like a slogan for the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF). yet, “As of Sept. 4, 2012, the American Library Association (ALA) division formerly known as the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF) will be known as ‘United for Libraries.’”
Please consider rewording the logo accordingly. Your call, of course.
