The American Library Association welcomed President Biden’s Executive Order on Promoting the Arts, the Humanities, and Museum and Library Services. The Order was announced on October 1, within a proclamation declaring October 2022 as National Arts and Humanities Month. The Executive Order establishes the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities within the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to “inform and support the national engagement with Americans necessary to advance the arts, the humanities and museum and library services.”
