Library Journal Editor-in-Chief Steps Down

August 31, 2012

In a statement released August 31, Library Journal announced that longtime editor-in-chief Francine Fialkoff is leaving the publication effective September 1. Fialkoff has been with LJ for 35 years, 15 of which she spent as editor and editor-in-chief.

“I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the smartest people both at LJ and in the library world,” Fialkoff said in the statement, “and I have great confidence in LJ’s future.”

Fialkoff’s final editorial for the publication will appear in the September 15 print edition and states that she will continue to be involved in the library world. The magazine’s executive editor Michael Kelley has taken over as interim editor-in-chief.
