Dorothy Johnson, 89, who served as reference librarian for 17 years at Pleasantville (N.Y.) Public Library, died May 21.

Rebecca Burkhart, 57, died after a year-long battle with sarcoma cancer May 1. She was a children's librarian at the Verona (N.J.) Public Library from 1978 until her retirement in January 2011.

Martha Van Riddle, , former branch supervisor of Malden (Mass.) Public Library's Linden Branch for more than 20 years, died June 3.

Marta Ann Rose, 52, a longtime reference librarian at the Fremont (Ill.) Public Library passed away April 10.

D. Elizabeth Bunnell, 91, former elementary school librarian, died May 18. She was an elementary school librarian for 40 years, the majority of which at Governor Mifflin School District in Berks County, Pennsylvania, from which she retired in June 1981.

Marilyn Brown, 61, former head children's librarian for Herrick (Mich.) District Library, died May 17. She also served on the board for the Michigan Library Association and was active on the Youth Services Committee for the Lakeland Library Cooperative.

Carol Logue, 74, director of the Sycamore (Ill.) Public Library from 1989 until 1993, died May 10.

C. Lamar Wallis, 95, director of Memphis and Shelby County (Tenn.) Public Library and Information Center from 1958 until his retirement in 1980, died April 15. He authored journal articles and received many awards during his career, including the Tennessee Library Association's Intellectual Freedom Award in 1998.

Ursula Meyer, 83, director of library services in the Stockton-San Joaquin County (Calif.) Library System from 1974 until her retirement in 1994, died April 15. Meyer served as president of the California Library Association in 1978, and on the ALA Council from 1974 to 1979.

Marguerite Carden, 83, former assistant director of Miami-Dade Public Library System, died on March 30.

Larry D. Black, 61, director of the Columbus (Ohio) Metropolitan Library for 18 years until his retirement in 2002, died February 22.
